This notice explains how Chingford Masjid collects and uses personal information through this website, and your rights over it.

Who we are

Chingford Masjid is run by Chingford Islamic & Cultural Centre CIC (company number 13487980), 90-92 Chingford Mount Road, Chingford, London E4 9AA. We are the controller of the personal information described here. You can contact us about your data at info@chingfordmosque.com.

What we collect and why

Contact form

Your name, email address and message, so that we can reply to your enquiry. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.

Newsletter

Your email address and, if you give them, your first and last name, so that we can send you news and announcements. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by contacting us.

Madrasah application

Your child's name, date of birth and gender; your address; parents' names, phone numbers and email addresses; who has parental responsibility; who will drop off and collect your child; the course applied for; and your consents. We use this to process the application and to run the madrasah safely. Our lawful basis is to take steps at your request before enrolling your child, and our legitimate interest in the safe running of the madrasah.

If you tell us about a medical condition or learning difficulty, this is special category data. We only hold it with your explicit consent, only so that we can look after your child, and it is only seen by the madrasah staff who need it.

Youth Club registration

Your child's name and age and a parent or guardian's name, phone number and email address, so that we can organise the Youth Club and contact you. Our lawful basis is your consent.

Donations

Donations are taken by GoCardless and Square on their own secure pages. We do not see or store your card or bank details on this website; those providers handle your payment under their own privacy policies.

Who can see your information

Form submissions can only be viewed by authorised masjid administrators, and every time a madrasah application is opened this is recorded. We never sell your information. We use trusted service providers to run the website: Supabase (database, hosted in the UK/EU), Vercel (website hosting) and Cloudflare (email and spam protection). They process data only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

• Contact enquiries: up to 12 months after we have dealt with them.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
• Madrasah applications: while your child attends the madrasah and for 12 months afterwards; applications that do not lead to enrolment are deleted within 12 months.
• Youth Club registrations: up to 12 months after the event.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, email info@chingfordmosque.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
